[productsample/affiliate] Rose fragranced shampoos and conditioners are a thing for me – I hauled a load back from Japan, eking it out carefully, and am always on the lookout for a good high street version (possibly more on that soon). It’s just such a lovely thing to have lightly rose scented hair and makes the whole hair washing process much more bearable (I hate washing my hair). Obviously, if you don’t like rose scent, avoid this collection from Christophe Robin that has quite a punch of it – enough that it lingers long after the blow dry.
The purpose of this collection, which isn’t new by the way, is to volumize as well as being gentle on both hair and colour. The shampoo is gentle enough to use daily, and is slightly different to regular shampoo in formulation. It’s something like a gel-milk – thinner than you expect and you need to leave it on for a minute or two before rinsing off. The conditioner is very rich – you really need only a very small amount – and I found it highly nourishing. The theory of the formula is that the acidic pH tightens the hair cuticle and limits the escape of any dyes or colourants you might have on. I don’t think I’ve used it long enough to put that particular claim to the test, but I can hardly bring myself to use anything else at the moment because I love it so much. In terms of volume – yes, there definitely is some .. I’d say post blow-dry, my hair looks like it has more body without looking over the top big.
Christophe Robin Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner with Rose Extracts is best for those with fine hair that needs a little bit of oomph, but to be quite honest, I don’t think this is going cause trouble for more or less any hair type. I genuinely loved the fact that the following day I was still getting little wafts of the scent. It’s a luxury range, priced accordingly, but for a spring time treat that’s just an absolute joy, I would highly recommend. If you take only one, I’d take the conditioner – this is definitely my favourite Christophe range yet. Shampoo is £29 and Conditioner is £33 HERE non aff HERE. You get a free Volumizing Paste with either.

This sounds absolutely lovely. What’s it like without conditioner – my hair is really really short, very fine and very flat (hate!). It doesn’t seem dry since I cut all the coloured stuff off a year or so ago, so do you think it would give what I’ve got any body?
Well, I haven’t used it without conditioner to be honest Ann, but if you don’t have dryness then you should be absolutely fine. There is an accompanying Instant Volumizing Mist which is also gorgeously rosy and might be a good booster – with both together you should see some body to your hair but obviously. I can’t guarantee.
Super. Thanks so much Jane.
Can’t wait to try this. I have thicker hair but I’m still excited to try it. I love roses 🙂
