[unpaid/sample] Another look at the forthcoming collection from Paul & Joe with Doraemon. If you don’t know who Doraemon is you’re probably scratching your head wondering who, what, why! So, Doraemon is a Japanese manga series that is hugely liked in Japan and other Asian countries. It features the aforementioned Doraemon, a robot cat from the 22nd century who is sent to help a young boy not doing so well in school – loosely, it’s a celebration of the relationship between humanity and technology and that positivity, motivation and good can be present in both. I mean, he’s not as easy to love as Hello Kitty but this character is HUGE – an annual movie, merchandise, licensing. It’s one of those ‘if you know, you know’ kinda things perhaps.
Anyway, the make up collection this year is all about Doraemon and his friend Dorami using Paul & Joe prints from SS 2018 as a backdrop. It launches on 1st November so I will flag it again once it’s there.
Inside the coffret, you’ll find a Moisturising Foundation Primer (with a little Doreaemon charm), an Illuminating Face Powder in a mirror compact with a puff, and a coral pink powder blush that has a small amount of shimmer. So, really, it’s about the complexion and providing a hydrated and smooth base with a little pop of colour for cheeks.
If you love cute or kawaii (which I do) this is a sweet set with lovely quality products. I like the primer as a day moisturiser actually – hyaluronic, apricot oil, apricot extract and jojoba. Finally, the pouch is reversible – on the inside, it’s the ditsy floral again if you want to change things up. It’s £48 which I think is a bit on the pricy side for this brand.

Thanks for the heads up and review!
Also very much enjoy the posts on the everyday beauty items and essential which are often overlooked.
thank you Jen 🙂
I grew up in Japan with Doraemon, so I absolutely love this! However, it’s the kind of thing I’d see in pharmacies in Japan as a child and beg my mother for – the sort of novelty thing you’d buy for children for a few hundred yen…I’m sure the quality of the product itself is lovely, but it does look like kiddies stocking filler to me.
Yes, it’s hard to make the leap to luxury but that said, Mickey Mouse does fine and so does (my beloved) Hello Kitty 🙂
