Imagine how easy it would be for a collaboration between L’Occitane and famous pastry chef, Pierre Herme, to go all sweet and sickly. The L’Occitane Pierre Herme Collection is definitely not like wearing the macaroons for which Pierre Herme is best known. Starting with Jasmin-Immortelle-Neroli, there’s really only the slightest foodie backdrop to this otherwise very light and warm scent. If anything, it’s the packaging that pays hommage to Pierre Herme, rather than the fragrances.
Of the two, Pamplemousse Rhubarbe is the one you can almost ‘taste’ as well as smell – it’s very fresh with a good mix of both grapefruit and rhubarb.
Pamplemousse Rhubarbe is fairly unisex (as long as you both like rhubarb!) where as Immortelle is distinctly feminine. I know there are beautiful gift sets coming out for each one (£55) which I am sure will go down a storm (I’d definitely gift the Pamplemousse as a wedding present). I think the fragrances are expensive at £46 each but all the other products, such as body wash and lotion, hand cream and soap are usual L’Occitane prices, starting at £4 for a soap and really feel like a treat for the senses. I’m a big L’Occitane fan as it is, although I’m not wild about their perfumes – in fact so are all my family; my mum and dad were snapping up L’Occitane in the South of France well before it came to the UK – it was founded in 1976 so it’s one of those ranges that I seem to always have known. The L’Occitane Pierre Herme Collection launches in September.

I love L’Occitane, and the Jasmine scent sounds right up my alley. Can’t wait to test it out! Thanks for the details. 🙂
I can’t tell if you like these perfumes or not from your review. You said you’d gift a set, but then you said your not wild about their perfumes. Do you just like the body products in the scent and not the same scent in the perfume?
L’Occitane fragrances have yet to resonate with me truly – I think what I’m saying is that I probably wouldn’t buy the perfume for myself because there are other perfumes that I feel are much more ‘me’. Body products, however, aren’t that pure blast of perfume..they’re softened and I love L’Occitane body products in general -if I was shopping for myself though, I’d opt for their traditional scents such as almond or rose. So I don’t not like the actual perfume, but nor do I like them enough to personally buy.
Thanks for replying. Yes, I agree their body and hand products are really good. The only perfume I bought from them is the The Vert & Bigarade which I wear to work because it light and fresh and one of the most office appropriate scents that I found and still enjoy the scent. Their other perfumes are nice but I don’t like enough to buy, so I get what you are saying.
these look and sound bloody delicious!
Are these only launching in Europe? SIgh. I’m in Canada.
Actually I don’t know.. we’re not generally given info about their global launches, but drop them a Tweet.. I’m sure they’ll happily let you know x
