[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Peter Philips has taken inspiration from colourful plumage for the Birds Of A Feather Collection, adding on a feather imprint to the palette shades. It’s making me think of peacock feathers because there is a lot of iridescence and shade shifting going on in this collection which makes it extremely vibrant and impactful.
With the exception of the lighter brown shade, I can wear all of the colours in the Early Bird 5 Couleurs Couture and easily so. The brown is just a bit yellow but I think very striking on the right person. I’m immediately smitten with the metallic red colour – I’ve applied it wet with a fine brush as an eye liner and it’s incredible. It made me think of wintery minimalism with just a dash of mascara and base – the red shade will do the heavy lifting for the look which in my mind’s eye goes with a black polo neck. As you’d expect, the formula is seamless – deeply pigmented, smooth as silk and weightless. Escentual has it for £42.50 HERE instead of £50 elsewhere.
For lips, there are three shades of the matte finish Dior Graphist. Mine is Vibrant Nude that to my eye runs cool in a pink toned beige. It’s actually too cool for my tone despite a little bit of grey in the background which usually suits me but is one of three shades, the others being coral and plum. It’s super silky in feel and an easy on-the-go wear as it applies so easily – if you can colour in, you can use Graphist! They’re £23.80 HERE.
I’m guilty of overlooking the 24H Stylos in the past but I was surprised at how deep Iridescent Bronze is in the wear – I was expecting a much lighter shade to appear. There’s an electric quality to this colour that is gorgeous used just as a single lid line (either under lower lashes or above upper lashes). It’s light catchy, long stay full, of vibrancy and my pick of the collection for a simple elevation to your regular look. It’s £19.10 HERE (at Escentual so a bit less than other stores where I’ve seen it for £22).
You can see the duochrome pigments infusing through this drop of Le Vernis Wild Wings. It’s bronze in nature but has shade shifty aspects of gold and red. Just every now and again, you’ll think you can see the pinky red showing through but it’s replaced with a greenish gold as the light shifts. I love it because it reminds me of the times when brands were really experimental with nail colours and we were all nail mad (and is it me or is it similar to Chanel Peridot?). Nail polishes are, as a trend, on their way back by the way so now’s the time to get slathering nail oil on to get them in great condition for the lacquer storm ahead. There are two other shade shifters in the collection – Early Bird which is in a pink variant, and Night Bird with a gold/green accent. They’re £18.70 HERE.
See what I mean about that red? It’s amazing. From bottom to top it’s Iridescent Bronze, Vibrant Nude followed by the palette shades. Non-affiliate is HERE.

Ooh these look amazing…and yes that nail polish immediately reminded me of one I had but I was too lazy to go and check which one! I’ve become more of a single eyeshadow person but now and again a palette comes along that says buy me NOW – even just for that red!❤️
I know what you mean – they have a lot of mono shades actually so you might find something close to it in singles 🙂
The pallette looks a lot cooler and more interesting than I expected. I think this may be one of those collections you need to try out first. I hated the promotional look on the Dior website but I am going to go and have a look on Counter.
The colours are interesting and quite versatile but I agree that you need to see it in real life first.
Lovely autumn-ey collection!
Awh, duochrome! Peridot doesn’t have any red in it (I still have it 😉 ), but I got last year very similar bronze-gold-red-green one from ILNP – shade Greatness and in general they have PLENTY of special effects polishes. Also Masura (is it Ukrainian? not sure, I got in from hypnoticpolish.com) – holo, duo (trio), all kinds of flakes, shimmers and glitters, thermo – just name it and they’ll have it (also price is ok and the quality is very decent)… And funky names! One I simply couldn’t resist – “Tears of My Ex” – how could I? 😀
I’m going to see if I can unearth Peridot! I’ll check out Masura – it sounds great!
The nail varnish is similar in colour to Cat’s Evasion by Holo Taco (Simply Nailogical), which does loads of holo, duochrome, creme and metallics, along with base and top coats.
oh wow.. thanks for the tip – I will take a look 🙂
