Too funny, Jane. I recently came back from Greece, but, like you, I really hate olives. But you can’t escape olives in Greece, especially if you want to eat salads to round out your meals. Of course, I could ask for no olives, but then I’d be left with a plate of tomatoes and cucumbers (because I don’t eat cheese either) and a lack of flavor, and not to mention the strange looks I was given the few times I did ask for it to be left out. LOL! At least the olives tasted better there than they do here (America).

Even funnier is that I bought a bunch of olive oil bar soaps to pass out at Christmas. I dislike the scent of olives, but I felt what better souvenir from Greece than olive oil bar soaps? So now my house smells like olives. Excuse my redundancy with the use of the word “olive,” but I don’t know what else to call the fruit. :/

I had to stop myself throwing away an old soap at my mums – it had cracks in it so god knows how old it was! Yes, I think you’re olive or you aren’t – there’s no mid point!

I’m with you on the olives. If confronted with them, I do my best Alison Steadman as Beverly in Abigail’s Party “Nobody likes olives, Laurence!” I’ve definitely gone back to bar soap as less plastic but often cut them into halves or thirds so I can change them before I get too bored and always have nice ones, not those gross white “unscented” ones that get grimy lines through them and go soggy underneath that my ex’s parents had.

Hello Jane! I’ve been using the shea soap lately and loving it! In fact, I find it superior to L’Occitane’s.
