Goodness, this is a scent that overshadows almost any other rose fragrance I’ve smelled. If you love deeply floral aromas, then I can’t see that you wouldn’t be immediately seduced. I was sent the Travel Size Set, £54, of four 10ml vials and I’m now cocooned in a heady cloud of rose. I’m a fan of one-note fragrances, which this most certainly isn’t – top notes are pink pepper, saffron and dates – all of which are completely lost on my poor olfactory senses. Bottom notes are broom and amber – again, couldn’t pick ’em out in a line up etc, BUT, the middle notes are where I have a fraction of hope that my sense of smell is alive, if not well. Rose, freesia, orange blossom and jasmine are the ones that I can identify and together, it’s a very beautiful arrangement. I guess the point about fragrances is that as a whole it must appeal to your senses and certain notes will sing more to one person than another. The composition is irrelevant as long as there follows a smell that instantly strikes a chord. Ta’if is sweet, wearable and distinctive. I like it. www.ormondejayne.com

Ta’if was my first OJ – I do love good rose scents. If JM Red Roses is Jennifer Aniston, OJ Ta’if is Angelina Jolie – slightly mad, but fascinating and hugely fun.
Is this travel size format available across the entire range?
Hello Great She – yes it appears to be available in all fragrances. x
The travel size is EDP – and the pure parfum is even more gorgeous.
Ta’if was my first OJ as well. I think of it as a rose scent that is appealing for rose-scent-haters as well, not a typical rose.
