[purchase/affiliate] I’m going to try and get all my Christmas beauty photography done over the weekend but I’ve been in London several times this week and on my travels spotted all sorts of pretty things.
I know for a fact this is coming my way at Christmas (I know this because I asked Max for it and collected it myself from Liberty!). My sister bought me a very similar ornament a few years ago and I was so upset when I was too clumsy with it and it dropped it. I’ve included an ornament in my children’s stockings since they were little so that they have their own set of decorations for their own homes. This one is in Liberty colours so is exclusive to them although there are other designs. It’s HERE.
I’ve been the recipient of these trees three years in a row (I always plant them out afterwards and I can tell you, they stay little for a very long time!) and they’re an absolute delight. They fit the brief for low key Christmas or all out Christmas – we do have a tree but for logistical reasons can’t put it in the sitting room where we mostly are so my tiny tree goes in there. I’m quite pared back with festive decor (the minute the cards go up, I start wanting to take them down) so this suits me down to the ground. The trees come flat packed so they slide through your letter box (and yes, they do fluff up nicely) with a little decoration set that you can arrange as you please. I know, socks at Christmas are so predictable but these represent what’s going perfectly on my feet. I’m in trousers most of the time and my beloved Tamaris trainers (although literally yesterday put my feet into my Fitflop MukLuk Talls (purchased – brown or waterproof options half price HERE) and think you may have to prize me out). Since I’ve started wearing flared trousers – omg, my legs get so cold! I am long socks all the way on this situation, preferably wool and they’re harder to find than you might think. For trainers where I think anyone might get a flash of sock, my friend Genevieve advised me to get sparkly socks, so I have, and I like them more every time I wear them. So, last year I bought one of these Fiasconaro x Dolce & Gabbana panetones and wanted one myself so badly that by the time I persuaded myself it was okay to get one, all the really bright tins had gone and I ended up with a tin that I do like in a blue and white pattern. But, this is exactly the one I wanted (and have asked my brother for it for Christmas so it’s on its way in due course!) and you can never have too many designer tins (I’m sure that’s a famous phrase). I can tell you that the panettone within is huge and the nicest I have ever tasted which is a great relief because they’re £44 each HERE. But, excellent for foodie or designer loving pals. They sold out super quickly last year.
These soaps are from the same place as the panettone – Anthropologie – and are delightful small gifts at £10 each. All of them have something ‘extra’ to them and I’d be as happy to give as to receive. They’ve just got some delight about them, I think. This is quite the find! The Bag of Ethics trio is so named because they’re made with no single plastic used and produced by a 90% female workforce in a factory printing using non-toxic inks. Giles Deacon has teamed up with Bags of Ethics to create this Viola design and somehow it’s ended up for £20 in Boots. H&M has produced a children’s collection with 10% of all sales benefiting Save The Children. I would give this sweetie cushion house room any day of the week – never mind any children. The Dolce and Gabbana and Fiasconaro products are GORGEOUS. They are just the most joyful things. A couple of years ago, exactly like you Jane, I saw them and I really, really wanted one for myself. It felt like an awful guilty indulgence but I don’t regret it. I really wanted, got, ( and gifted), the oblong shaped tins. I got the smaller size, 600gms, and inside there is a panettone, a jar of absolutely delicious pistachio paste, and a little decorative gold knife/spreader. As you will know they also come in a huge stunning, very festive gift bag. I actually put mine by the Christmas tree as a lovely, very traditional looking decoration, so I enjoyed it for weeks before I even opened it. If you consider that you also get a lovely tin to continue to use endlessly, it’s actually quite good value. Well……thats how I justified it for myself.
The ones given as gifts were hugely appreciated. I’ve just been browsing the range again this year!
That’s so good to hear – actually, now I think about it I think my brother is getting me the oblong tin which is more practical for me but I will sneak in a small round tin for myself. I’m not sure mine last year had the spreader or the paste – I am sure there are lots of different options, but agree they’re the most delicious panettones I’ve ever had!
