I don’t know about returns – I’m sure they’re on the website. It didn’t oxidise on me – but they really have such a good customer service team it’s well worth getting in touch with them.

The sample cards have been sold out for months. Is it returnable if o matched incorrectly?

I didn’t much like It Cosmetics CC either after a while. You’re right – skin is a living organ so of course it’s going to vary in behaviour from person to person. Lisa doing samplers was such a good idea. x

I don’t like a dewy look so that makes sense. I also like Bobbi Brown’s Long Wear Weightless foundation – though I’d say Lisa’s comes up a bit more moisturising for me. It never ceases to amaze me how different foundations suit different skins. I’ve always wanted to love the It Cosmetics, Your Skin but Better CC Cream – but it won’t sit on my skin at all. Try before you buy is definitely worthwhile.

Thank you Carla for your thoughtful review – I’m really pleased to have it. A good tip is to pat on some serum over the top – just a light touch in your palm, put your hands together to take some onto each hand and then press over your complexion. It’s a Caroline Barnes tip that really works. However, I quite see the sensible option is to get a foundation that suits your preference!

I tried the foundation and agree with those who think it is a bit too mat/flat and probably not suitable for dry-ish skin – no need to use the word ‘mature’ – I am 60 with nice wrinkles and relatively good skin. It required careful preparation before application – exfoliation, good hydration, primer; Lisa’s video on how to try the foundation is excellent and I found my shade. It’s very pigmented, so you really don’t need too much product, and it tends to get darker after a few minutes. Unfortunately, it’s not for me; I did not like the texture and the mat effect on my skin; the finish did not look ‘natural’, just too flat. The staying power is very good but after a few hours my skin still felt a bit too dry. More hydrating and dewy foundations are more suitable for my skin so, although I love Lisa Eldridge’s products, I won’t buy her foundation. Also, I believe this foundation was made to be used with Lisa Eldridge Elevated Glow Highlighter to lift it and make skin look fresh, it won’t look great without some lifting.

You really should send for the sample cards – they’re only £2 each I think … really worth doing to get exactly the right shade. This is an unusual foundation so I’m not sure a video would help but I have a video on my Instagram that shows me trying some of the shades on xx

It’s possible – or you could mix it into the foundation providing the two are compatible. If I had a full size here I would do a bit of experimenting but my samples are all used up on swatches.

Instead I use Glossier Futuredew under my SPF. I wonder if Futuredew would impart a bit of glow under LE’s foundation?
