I had the pleasure of going into Pureseoul, Nature Republic and Reiwatakiya last Friday for the first time and, oh my, I was in absolute heaven. Came away with quite the haul, particularly from Reiwatakiya – thanks for sharing these fabulous shops with us Jane!

In reply to Yvonne. I'm comparing to what you can get on-line and also the stores in Charing X Road (quite a few Korean stores popping up) and found them to be quite reasonable. They also seem to have avoided (on the whole) what you can get easily on Sephora. x

I went but found the prices to be a bit on the expensive side. But it’s good if I ever run out and I know the shop is there if I’m absolutely desperate for something.

Oh, Korean (Japanese, etc) beauty products are such a joy! This aloe gel is my staple – apart from the obvious it also goes great as gel for any electric massage device (cavitation, red-blue-whatever light…) And I love Holika’s red wine sleeping mask (best used on top of whatever you put on your face for the night – it also helps everything to sink deeper). Glad for you to have this little colorful shop nearby, Jane! Sure, everything (or nearly everything) can be obtained online, but the pleasure of real shopping when you can touch and smell is special 🙂

I think this is just one independent small shop – so far. I think John Lewis seems to be under the spotlight in the same way that M&S is always used as a market indicator – I’d be so sad if either disappeared! I’m with you on Lush – it’s olfactory torture!

I am intrigued with these little shops. I love a lip balm and trail sizes are a great idea. Sadly no shop near me, these are the type of shops that I’d love to see on high streets again. With the shocking news that John Lewis is in trouble ( never thought I’d ever see that, it’s like the Ravens leaving the Tower of London!) Maybe we will see smaller shops coming back? Prefer independent shops, I was there when the Body Shop opened in Brighton and Chichester and Anita Rodick and her husband worked in them. That went global, I am sure this little shop has many branches, but nevertheless it’s nice to walk into a small space sometimes. Not Lush though, too many smells fighting with each other. Sorry, gone off subject! Will visit this new ventures website!
